About Across The Blue Ridge Mountains
My novel was inspired by the research I did on the families that lived in the mountains that became Shenandoah National Park as well as living in the Appalachian mountains for over thirty five years. Also, the wonderful ballad sung by Mary Bird Macalister of Brown's Cove, who adopted it as her own, and contemporary musicians Rising Appalachia were also inspirations.
